Shannon Update 2!!!

If you’ve been around at least a couple months, you know that I am WAY overdue for a Shannon update.  Sorry about that.  We were both a little off the ball on this one.  If you recently started following and want to catch up, be sure to read Shannon’s Introduction and the First Update.  First, I had to swipe this awesome photo of Shannon and her sister, Helen (who’s an awesome runner herself)… absolutely love this pic. Three Things Thursday

1.  Today I ran probably one of the hardest interval workouts that I have ever run.  I’ve done Yasso 800s before, and because of the distance they entail, they are an incredibly hard workout.  But today I had 4x1200m intervals, which sounds pretty standard and nothing too exciting and way easier than 10x800s.  But my coach thinks I’m faster than I think I am, and he had me run those 4 intervals at a pace faster than my fastest recorded…

Have you checked out my fundraiser for White Rock Marathon and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children???  I have a HUGE GIVEAWAY going on, and right now, your chances of getting a prize are pretty spectacular.  I’ll be picking FOUR winners every Friday (yes, I know it’s Saturday, I’m a smidge delayed cause I had to pick up the hubs from the airport). Three Things Thursday

I’m hopping on the three things Thursday blogger train today. 1.  Biggest Loser Marathon – Everyone else is talking about it, so it’s my turn.  I’m not going to argue whether it’s right or wrong.  There’s a whole slew of opinions on that.  Actually what bothers me about the Biggest Loser Marathon is that the winner makes it into the finals.  Sounds odd that it would bother me… but as a girl who trains her rear off and still finds…

What You Don’t Know About MCM…

No, this post isn’t about what you think.  I don’t have any secret insider scoop on the Marine Corps Marathon.  Sorry, folks, you’ll have to look elsewhere for any juicy gossip. But what you may not know is that I made a commitment back in August to train for an event in February.  With a slew of other events on the race calendar, I decided that Marine Corps Marathon would serve two purposes.  Now, don’t get me wrong.  I signed…

Note to Self…

Dear Self: You may have run 9 miles including Yasso 800s on Friday, then 21 miles on Saturday, but on Monday when you ran that 10 miles, you knew something was “off”.  You were a good girl and headed to your A.R.T. appointment.  Dr. Magic Hands worked you over, and it HURT.  Do you hear your body *now*?  Yes?  Good. Thank you for taking 3 days off from running.  I know you wanted to run badly, but you listened to me, and…
